FNTI is seeking Instructors to teach micro-credentials on a flexible basis within the 2023-2024 academic year. We would like to welcome interested applicants to apply for current and future contract opportunities in micro-credential programs, including micro-credentials in the Indigenous Relations bundle, the Indigenous Justice bundle, and the Addressing Trauma to Strengthen Indigenous Communities bundle. Each micro-credential is 15 hours in length and they are delivered in a virtual environment.
Instructors are contracted for specific micro-credentials and will be compensated for 45-hours of work, which includes preparing for, and facilitating of the sessions, grading and providing feedback on student work, and attending and participating in meetings with the teaching team.

The Human Resources Manager, reporting to the Vice President of Enrolment Management and Student Services, plays a pivotal role in overseeing the functions of the Human Resources department at FNTI. This includes implementing human resources and talent management strategies, attracting and retaining employees, administering compensation and benefits, managing employee relations, overseeing performance evaluation processes, ensuring employee health and safety, facilitating training and development initiatives, conduct policy reviews and ensuring compliance with HR standards and legislative requirements.
The Manager will also be responsible for supervising HR staff, managing HR systems and metrics, providing support to the Administrative Team as needed, and aligning their efforts with the strategic priorities of the Institute while upholding FNTI’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
The Cohort Supervisor reports to the Manager, Integrated Experiential Learning Office and has a critical academic role in curriculum design and course facilitation, as well as Indigenous community engagement, administrative monitoring, research and knowledge dissemination within the Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work Program.
This position is one part of a collaborative teaching and learning team involving the learner, the faculty and the cohort supervisor. The cohort supervisor’s responsibilities include facilitating 4 full 45-hour courses. This includes development, enrichment, curriculum design and assessment of learners, in addition to quality assurance measures regarding curriculum content and course learning outcomes.
The cohort supervisor leads the integrated community learning experience by identifying communities, community sites and community site leaders; and identifying appropriate learning pathways while negotiating pertinent, relevant and critical contracts between FNTI and the Community Sites. This is in collaboration with identified stakeholders within the community and various personnel within FNTI.
Additional responsibilities regarding community engagement include legislated and regulatory oversight. As per the Canadian Association of Social Work Education, the cohort supervisor is also responsible and required to act as a community site supervisor and notary – monitoring and approving all site interactions during all IEL experiences and ensuring academic alignment.
The incumbent will be required to develop a customized integrated experiential learning data management system, in order to provide ongoing academic assessment throughout the 4-year program of study.

The Project Coordinator reports to the Program Manager, Micro-credential Programs, and has a key project management role in the development and preparation for delivery of new micro-credentials in asynchronous delivery environments, with unique wrap-around supports. The Project Coordinator is also responsible to support the Program Manager and related teams by developing and monitoring a project plan, liaising with multiple internal and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives, documenting progress, and continuously reporting on risks, successes, and opportunities. The Project Coordinator also assists the Program Manager to manage administrative coordination tasks related to the delivery of current and planned micro-credential courses. The Project Coordinator focusses on these responsibilities while ensuring that the project upholds a commitment to Indigenous knowledge and ways of knowing, being, and doing.
The Project Coordinator will work as part of a collaborative, collegial, positive, and engaged development and teaching team, community partners, and the broader FNTI community.
The Vice-President, People, Organizational Culture, and Development (VP, POC&D) holds a pivotal role at the FNTI (First Nation Technical Institute) in Ontario, reporting directly to the President. This executive position is responsible for steering the institution towards excellence in fostering an enriching organizational culture, developing its people, and efficiently managing its financial and physical resources, including Information Technology (IT). As a key member of the senior leadership team, the VP, POC&D champions initiatives that align with FNTI’s mission, vision, and values, particularly focusing on enhancing the educational delivery and development of its staff and students within an Indigenous context.
